Why Zeta Inwood was nominated

Zeta’s next-generation charter school model combines world-class academics with whole-child education, focused on social-emotional learning, mindfulness meditation, and rich specialty programming, including Zeta Innovation Lab, Sports, Taekwondo, Soccer, Dance, Music, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Chess. Zeta currently operates 4 charters across 6 campuses in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan, providing Pre-K through 5th grade, and, in 2023-24, we will open our first middle schools, starting with 6th grade. Each Zeta school will grow to serve students in Pre-K through 12th grade., Zeta Inwood currently serves over 650 students and consistently outperforms local peers: during the 2022-23 school year, 87% of students scored at or above grade level in math and 76% exceeded standards in ELA. This campus is part of a network that serves the Bronx and Northern Manhattan, offering an innovative, whole-child approach to learning, and preparing children for true participation and leadership in a modern economy. In addition, the network has created Z Combinator, a selective, seven-month fellowship program to support new school leaders during their planning years with the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to launch strong schools.
