Valor's Compass model fosters holistic human development— including key physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual disciplines—through a focus on community and relationships as well as individual identity work., Valor is a long-time partner of Transcend and they have been working together to spread Valor's popular Compass model. Compass supports learners well-being and strives to inspire their diverse community to live inspired, purposeful lives and to reach their full potential. This is done through commitments, habits of mind, specific disciplines, Circle practices, and more. Adults also move through these activities to support their development as well as that of learners. Learners receive badges and VAlor is working to have those achivements recognized as credentials outside of the school building. The school was 1 of 5 to achieve an A+ rating from the TN dept of education.
