Bonham is a Dallas ISD school of choice which opened in August 2016 to serve 199 scholars in kindergarten through second grade. Solar Girls serves Prek4 through eighth grade. The school focus is single-gender education for girls from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and integrated, performance-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) instruction combined with social emotional learning. The school is designed around a STEAM instructional model designed to help foster every child’s love of science, technology, engineering, math and the arts. The school has had leading results in the Dallas Independent School District since inception and has emerged as one of the strongest post-COVID recovery stories in the state of Texas.
