Student experience design

The student experience at Jenison Innovation Academy (JIA) for both Elementary (K-5) and Secondary (6-12) levels is designed to empower learners through a flexible and personalized approach to education. JIA offers a variety of online and hybrid learning opportunities, allowing students to follow customized weekly calendars within digital courses, all expertly designed by our dedicated JIA teachers. A significant aspect of this experience is the strong partnership with each family, fostering a caring and supportive network that enhances every student's educational journey. Throughout the week, students may participate in live virtual sessions and engage in multiple checkpoints with teachers and academic advisors, ensuring consistent support. This framework not only allows students to accelerate their learning but also encourages the exploration of interest-driven options aligned with their post-secondary readiness as outlined in their educational development plans. Additionally, JIA students benefit from cross-cultural peer engagement through our national and international program, U-Tech Prep. This connects students enrolled in the same JIA courses from various countries and time zones, enriching their educational experience with diverse perspectives and collaboration.
