Why Helen S Dunn Elementary School was nominated

Middle School students participate in an Outdoor Adventure Classroom. This classroom includes Reading, Math, and Science Observations as part of the day as students work and learn in an outdoor environment. Our students are also learning about Maine woods, Maine waters, and appreciating the environment.

Student experience design

All students need to have hope that they will reach their goals. In a supportive learning environment, they learn that effort and momentum are celebrated and that the people truly care about them and their struggles. Our students know that they are cherished and we believe in their success.
