Hamilton High School has a work-based learning graduation requirement. Throughout their high school years, students must complete career activities every year. Students can choose activities they do on their own like a college visit or career fair and/or participate in school-related activities such as the school store class. The activities are categorized into Awareness, Exploration, Preparation, and Training. Students can be excused from school to attend an event or do an activity if they complete the appropriate forms ahead of time. To graduate, students must complete three tasks in the Preparation and Training categories, with at least one from Training. With the large variety of options to choose from, students can plan their own career paths., Hamilton has a Work Based Learning (WBL) Graduation Requirement. Students in grades 5-10 have required WBL activities they must participate in. In high school, they engage in awareness and exploration activities, and must complete three preparation and/or training tasks to graduate. They have a detailed, interactive list of all the Work Based Learning opportunities for Hamilton Community Schools students. CTE, skilled trades, military prep programs, high school courses, CDL acquisition, and more are experiences available to students.
