Why Gem Prep Nampa was nominated
Gem is exploring an academic model that can act as a proof point for re-imaging education in rural communities with limited access to high-quality teachers. Gem is uniquely positioned to build on the infrastructure and learnings from operating a high-performing virtual charter (I-DEA) to create a new approach for serving students in talent-light environments and lower per pupil funding., The world is changing rapidly and effective education keeps pace with the challenges and advancements students will meet in the real world. Our passion is to provide students a transformational education giving them the knowledge, characteristics, competencies and mindsets for success in college and the next generation workplace.
Student experience design
Gem Prep: Nampa focuses on developing strong academics, competencies, and in providing experiences that allow students to have a strong foundation for success in college and in their eventual careers. Part of this experience is taking college level courses while in high school in pursuit of an associate's degree by the time of high school graduation.
