Elevate Academy Caldwell

Why Elevate Academy Caldwell was nominated

Elevate Academy schools are impacting at-risk youth through an innovative Career Tech Education model that is deeply integrated with the local business community., Elevate works with opportunity youth who have been designated as "at-risk" by the state. By the time they graduate, students earn certifications in at least two professional fields and spend 50% of their time in apprenticeships and professional learning experiences. They also have a partnership with the local and state juvenile justice systems to prevent Elevate students from enrolling in the system. They currently operate one campus and will be launching two additional campuses this fall., Elevate Academy is a school of choice for students who qualify as at risk and are not finding success in a traditional education setting. The Elevate Academy program is designed to align industry work with core academic subjects so that students will find purpose behind everything that is learned in the classroom. Elevate Academy resides in a state of the art 55,000 square foot building that was built to fit the needs of all students and staff. Career Technical Education spaces have been designed by professionals in the areas of culinary arts, construction, welding/manufacturing, medical arts, criminal justice, firefighting, business/marketing and graphic design. Offering relevant and interest-based learning experiences, while educating the whole child, was considered when designing Elevate Academy. In addition to the CTE and traditional academic facilities, students have a fitness center, mental health services, individual showers, a laundry room and their very own barbershop. Elevate Academy is home to an indoor, 2 story, slide that adds additional energy and excitement. Elevate Academy classrooms are designed to extend into the hallways and beyond to enhance the personalized learning approach to each child’s education. Elevate Academy offers industry trades such as Medical Arts, Criminal Justice, and Business/Marketing. The expectation at Elevate Academy is for all students to earn two Industry Certificates. Elevate has multiple other campuses as well.
